Blacked-Legged Kittiwakes on Heligoland
The sound of the Black-Legged Kittiwake
The Blacked-Legged Kittiwake is a middle-sized seagull, living
in the arctic regions throughout the whole northern hemispere.
For breeding they come ashore, and in central Europe their
only breeding ground is the small island of Heligoland. Their
call sounds like „Kittiwake“, and so they got their name.
